In this video, I take you inside my friend Amy’s teeny tiny beach bungalow in Ocean Beach, San Diego. This adorable space proves you don’t need a lot of square footage to live a full, intentional, and even abundant life. This tiny house tour took place in 2018 (yes, it’s basically vintage!!!!!!). At the time I was living in my converted school but, The Bitcoin.com Bus – an even smaller space!!!!!! I really enjoyed all of their small space hacks, and in hindsight I’m STILL wanting to add some of these techniques to my skoolie!!!!
The space may be small, but every single space is functional! This is a living room, office, guest room, yoga space, and dining area all in one. The kitchen is compact but highly functional, with custom-built storage solutions that make use of every overlooked gap. The bedroom doubles as a workspace and a sanctuary, with thoughtful separation of energy and purpose, even within a single room.
Amy walks through some of her favorite small space hacks, from vertical storage and custom furniture modifications to rethinking how we use everyday items. There’s a strong “make do, use it up, or do without” philosophy woven throughout the home. It shows up not as a limitation, but as a creative framework.

What I absolutely love is that this isn’t just a tiny home, it’s a productive one!!! There’s food growing outside, a zero waste mindset inside, and a clear alignment between how they live and what they value. Much of what you see has been repurposed, gifted, or built over time, which gives the space a deeply personal and functional feel.
If you’ve ever felt like you need more space, more storage, or more stuff to make life work, this tour might challenge that assumption.
This is what it looks like when you design your environment to support your life, instead of the other way around.
